The final year students of Sarvajenik College of Engineering and Technology (SCET), India and Part II Year I students of City School of Architecture (CSA) conducted a joint study program in Colombo in November 2009. Forty students and eight faculty members from Surat, India participated in this event hosted by CSA.

The group arrived in Sri Lanka on the 28th of November and the workshop was conducted for 3 days on an Urban Design enhancement programme for Fort and Pettah, in Colombo. Forty eight students from both schools combined their knowledge from vividly different backgrounds, into a single exertion of developing a ‘Vision’ for ‘Colombo in 2020’. The workshop was successfully concluded on the 1st of December with their work being presented in front of a jury of eminent architects from Sri Lanka.
